Cowley Manor Experimental Hotel - Elkstone

Historic manor hotel on 22 hectares of Cotswold parkland with a renowned spa

Rooms & Accommodation

The hotel offers 36 meticulously designed rooms in the main house or converted stable block, each with handmade furniture and fabrics made by young British designers. All rooms have a flat-screen TV and luxury toiletries, with some providing a terrace or lake view. The Swan Lake Suite includes a four-poster bed and a large bath overlooking the grounds.

Dining & Bar

The restaurant is a grand room with high ceilings and views of the grounds, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner made from fresh local ingredients under celebrated chef Jackson Boxer. The cocktail lounge has an open fire and a 70s-inspired design, offering drinks from professional bar staff. Afternoon tea and room service are also available, with special diet menus upon request.

Spa & Wellness

The C-Side Spa is housed in a separate building with an indoor heated pool in a glass structure and an outdoor heated pool surrounded by lawns. Guests have access to a sauna, steam room, fitness centre, and a spa lounge with relaxation area. Treatments include massages, facials, body wraps, and holistic therapies, with dedicated adults-only swim times for hotel guests.

Grounds & Activities

The hotel is set within 22 hectares of parkland, woods, and meadows with natural springs, lakes, and Victorian cascades. The gardens have unique sculptures and offer walking paths, including opportunities to walk with alpacas. The grounds also inspired the setting for Alice in Wonderland, and guests can borrow Barbour jackets from the hotel for walks.

Family & Pets

The hotel provides a games room with pool, darts, and chess, plus board games and a shared lounge area. Family rooms are available, and children have dedicated swim times at the spa pools. Dog-friendly accommodations are offered, with beds and bowls provided for pets, and the expansive grounds are suitable for walks.
